A national media campaign to promote the authority of the Bible began running commercials on Fox News, FoxNews.com and MSNBC.com on Monday.
The “I Am Not Ashamed” campaign, organized by apologetics ministry Answers in Genesis, will run commercials from March 1 to April 25 featuring individuals from different backgrounds, nationalities, ages and cultures saying they are not ashamed of the Gospel.
Organizers hope to convey the message that despite physical differences, people around the world hold in common a respect and appreciation for the relevance of God’s word in today’s world.
A print ad campaign will also run in USA Today during that period. The print ad will quote specific Bible verses that address hot-button issues today. Issues that will be addressed include abortion, marriage and religion in the public square.
Local churches are also encouraged to join the campaign by sponsoring billboards in their area that include the link to the I Am Not Ashamed website.
The various ads all point viewers to the campaign website iamnotashamed.org where people can upload videos of themselves reading or quoting the Bible. One of the main goals of the campaign is to call on Christians to join the world’s first online video Bible.
The theme of the campaign, “I Am Not Ashamed,” is inspired by the verses found in Romans 1:16: “I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes; first for the Jews, then for the Gentile.”
Organizers said they felt this is the message that America most needs to hear right now.

WITI-TV, MADISON - MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A voter registration drive that the community organizing group ACORN conducted in Milwaukee before the 2008 presidential election was marred by fraud and corruption, prosecutors said Monday.
Two former ACORN employees, Maria Miles and Kevin Clancy, were criminally charged Monday. The complaint accuses them of repeatedly trying to register the same voters more than once to meet a 20-signature-per-day quota imposed by ACORN, the embattled group that advocates for low-income people.
"Miles stated they were 'all hoodlums' working for ACORN and they all had criminal histories, and that they were going to 'do whatever they had to do' to be able to gain their money at the end of each day," Assistant Attorney General David W. Maas and special agent Peter Thelen wrote in the complaint filed in Milwaukee County.
ACORN has been devastated by a political and media firestorm created last year when conservative activists released video showing workers advising a woman posing as a prostitute how to launder earnings. Congress voted to cut federal funding for the group, which has also been dogged by allegations of voter-registration fraud.
Miles, 36, acknowledged to investigators that she tried to register Clancy's brother, a co-worker and another man at least twice each. Clancy, 26, said he signed his brother up twice, his mother four or five times and would go to the same park every day to sign up the same people so he could meet his quota, according to the complaint.
Another worker who said she was fired for not reaching the quota said she saw workers signing one another's forms, putting down names twice and "getting names out of the phone book," the complaint said.
Miles told investigators she didn't register any voters at least one day per week, and instead spent that time at the home of a co-worker who was romantically involved with their supervisor. The complaint said the supervisor would approve the workers' pay despite their lack of work.
Phone numbers were not listed for Miles and Clancy, and a spokesman for the prosecutor's office said they did not yet have attorneys. Each is charged with falsely procuring voter registration as a party to the crime, a felony that carries up to 3 1/2 years in prison.
The complaint said both worked on the drive for weeks during the summer of 2008.
Another former ACORN worker, Latoya Lewis, was sentenced last year to three years' probation for trying to register some people more than once to meet her quota.
Carolyn Castore, a former ACORN political organizer who ran the voter registration drive, said Miles and Clancy were fired after the group uncovered the fraud on its own. She called their actions "a victimless crime" since they did not lead to illegal voting. She said the supervisor would have been fired "in a nanosecond" had she been aware of his behavior.
ACORN released a statement saying records show Clancy was fired after only about two weeks of employment.
Castore acknowledged to investigators that an increase in fraud occurred when workers at an annual Juneteenth celebration in 2008 submitted bogus names. The workers had been promised the rest of the week off if they each registered at least 40 voters.
Castore told investigators that another fraud spike came in May 2008 after another group, the Community Voters Project, began signing up voters and the area became saturated with registration activity.
In a statement, ACORN spokesman Kevin Whelan said the drive helped thousands of Wisconsin citizens register to vote, and that ACORN staff verified information on each card and flagged duplicates.
"The small number of instances in which an employee has submitted duplicate or fraudulent voter registration cards are an example of workers attempting to defraud ACORN by passing off bad work as good work -- and the organization supports their prosecution," Whelan said.

What are we coming to as a society When people can't even dry their own clothes out on the line anymore? Not too long ago people didn't even have washers and dryers like we do today. They had to do their laundry outside and hang them up to dry in the sun. 

I can remember as a child that was a weekly chore of mine and my sisters during the warm seasons here in Ohio. Mom would wash the clothes and then we would hang them on the line. It saved us much needed money on our electric bill and to me is better for the environment just like the woman said.

Still in many countries today people don't have or can't even afford clothes dryers and washers and are hanging their clothes out to dry do we see them being fined by their city/town? Have we as a society here in America gotten to the point where we think that we should outlaw the use of the sun and wind when it is free just so we can get more money out of an already struggling America and force them the use machines that cost them money that they need to feed, clothe and house their families? It certainly seems that way to me.

Hawaii considering Law to Ignore Those who want Obama's Birth Certificate

HONOLULU (AP) - Birthers beware: Hawaii may start ignoring your repeated requests for proof that President Barack Obama was born here. As the state continues to receive e-mails seeking Obama's birth certificate, the state House Judiciary Committee heard a bill Tuesday permitting government officials to ignore people who won't give up.
Officials at the state Department of Health say the state gets between 10 and 20 e-mails seeking verification of Obama's birth each week, most of them from outside Hawaii.
Both the director of the Health Department and the state registrar of vital statistics have verified that the Health Department holds Obama's original birth certificate.

As far as we can remember there has never been so much controversy over where the President of the United States was nor was not born.

But for those who don't believe he was born here. Let them see the document make it public for everyone to see if there is nothing to hide as to where Mr. Obama was born.  However, Those in charge just keep saying that they have the proof that he was born in the United States, but will not make the document public.  

I don't know about you, but something smells fishy. Especially now that they are considering passing a law to be able to just ignore the cries of the American People.

Murdered Florida Street Preachers to Be Honored

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla., March 17 /Christian Newswire/ -- On Sunday, May 16th a Prayer Vigil is scheduled to honor the lives of Steven Ocean and Tite Sufra, two courageous young black men shot to death while sharing the Gospel on the streets of Boynton Beach, Florida on January 30th.

The event is sponsored by Rev. Patrick Mahoney of the Christian Defense Coalition, and Dr. Gary Cass of the Christian Anti-Defamation Commission, and leaders in South Florida. The vigil will take place from 3-5 PM in the parking lot in front of the Boynton Beach City Library, 208 South Seacrest Boulevard, near where Ocean and Sufra were murdered.

"Just as we honor those who die while serving our country and communities, we must to honor Steven Ocean and Tite Sufra, two fine young men who were killed in the line of Christian duty," said Dr. Gary Cass. "We will pray for their families, the community and for justice. This tragic event was largely ignored and under reported. This vigil is our effort to pay these two men the respect they deserve. All Christians, especially those who minister on the streets, are urged to come and take back the streets of Boynton Beach for Christ."

U.S: 6 Year Old Handcuffed At School

MCALLEN -- Claudia Cortez Martinez shed tears as she remembered what happened to her son at Alvarez Elementary School in McAllen.
"They handcuffed him as if he was an adult, but he was only 6 years old," said Martinez in Spanish.
She said her son climbed underneath his teacher's desk at Alvarez Elementary School in McAllen back in May 2009.
Fed up, Martinez said the teacher allegedly took matters into her own hands.
"My son said she grabbed him by the hand and pulled him to a couch and said she was sick and tired of his behavior," said Martinez.
According to Martinez, the teacher called security and security handcuffed her 6-year-old son and left him face down for several hours.
"I feel humiliated because there was nothing I could do for my son," she said. "Until now, there was nothing I could do."
Now, she's demanding justice.
She has hired attorney Robert Puente and filed a lawsuit that landed in federal court last week.
The McAllen mother is seeking damages for medical expenses and the physical pain her son endured.
"Our teachers, our administrators have tough jobs, but that doesn't justify putting a child handcuffed face down on his face," Puente told Action 4 News.
Martinez also wants payment for the mental anguish that the situation caused her and most of all her son.
She said the experience will traumatize him for life.
"He'll never forget this. Neither will I, but those who did this will be fine and happy," said Martinez. "But what about us?"
Martinez said she just wants justice and doesn't think the school should get away with what they did to her son.

North Korea: People starving because of Govt. Run Food Supplies

North Korea should let farms produce freely and allow food to be sold in local markets because the communist government cannot provide enough food for its people, a U.N. human rights investigator urged Monday.

Vitit Muntarbhorn said North Korea's regime stopped small-scale farming and closed local markets last year as part of a long-term clampdown on the agricultural sector. Thieving from the military is also hurting the income of farmers and contributing to hunger, he said.

The government took these drastic measures "because it wanted people to revert back to the public distribution system — to be dependent upon the state," Muntarbhorn told reporters.

The U.N. estimates that 8.7 million people need food aid in North Korea. The country has relied on foreign assistance to feed much of its population since the mid-1990s when its economy was hit by natural disasters and the loss of the regime's Soviet benefactor.

North Korea, ruled by Kim Jong Il, is routinely described in U.N. and other reports as one of the world's most repressive regimes.

Despite the tight controls, Muntarbhorn, a Thai professor, said some North Korean farmers are continuing to eke out a meager living by selling their goods directly to citizens. He even noted rare protests among women in the country.

Muntarbhorn has never been allowed to visit North Korea, which views his mandate as a violation of its sovereignty.

Basing his information on U.N. and non-governmental agencies active in North Korea, he said soldiers routinely steal or extort agricultural produce from farmers in the country. He said interviews with refugees also provided valuable information about the plight of rural North Koreans.

"People should be able to generate that food and keep it rather than being extorted as they are today," Muntarbhorn said. "They should be able to trade — to generate income the state is not able to provide."

Muntarbhorn presented his report Monday at the U.N. Human Rights Council, prompting an angry North Korean rebuttal.

North Korean diplomat Myong Nam Choe accused the investigator of being part of a Western effort to discredit the Pyongyang government.

Muntarbhorn also criticized North Korea's currency revaluation last year for drastically cutting people's assets.

North Koreans must trade 100 "won" for 1 unit of new currency of the same name, as part of a government effort to remove money from the economy and root out elements of capitalism, he alleged.

"This was a push to curb the market system," Muntarbhorn said, "and control the circulation of money in the process."

California tells Home Bible Group to get permit or stop meeting in homes

For the second time in six months, a Southern California city has ordered a group of Christian worshippers who meet inside homes to get a permit or shut down.

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. -- For the second time in six months, the city has ordered a group of Christian worshippers who meet inside homes to get a permit or shut down.

It's the latest incident in which religious groups in Southern California have been targeted by cities for home gatherings, though many of those groups were eventually allowed to meet without obtaining permits.

Rancho Cucamonga is trying to halt Friday night meetings at a home after receiving a complaint in February from a neighbor that 40 to 60 people were gathering weekly in the San Bernardino County location.

Officials said the homeowner needs a conditional use permit by Good Friday, April 2, to operate a church in a residential area.

Pacific Justice Institute, a nonprofit legal defense group that specializes in conservative Christian issues, said the meetings were actually a Bible study group that usually draws about 15 people.

The permit requires public hearings, traffic studies and other costly procedures. Requiring one would be "manifestly absurd and unjust," according to a statement Tuesday from Brad Dacus, president of the Sacramento-based institute.

The city doesn't require permits for similar-sized gatherings, "everything from birthday parties to the weekend beer bash," added Matt McReynolds, an institute attorney.

His organization intends to file an appeal with the city and hopes to avoid going to court, McReynolds said.

Kurt J. Keating, the city's code enforcement supervisor, said the city is trying to restrict church services held in private homes, not home Bible studies.

"There's also some supporting facts that they are advertising themselves as a church over the public domain, such as the Internet," Keating said.

The group is affiliated with Shiloh Tabernacle Church, a local nonprofit run by Puredi Hillary Ministries Inc. According to its Web site, the church stresses "miracles of healing, deliverance from demonic oppression and possession, re-dedications and most importantly, salvations."

Last September, complaints by neighbors about traffic problems prompted the city to order Joe and Diana Johnson to get a church permit or shut down Christian gatherings at their home. The city eventually allowed the meetings to continue without a permit.

Also last year, San Diego County apologized to a pastor and his wife who were cited and told to get a permit for a weekly Bible study session that drew five to 27 people to their Bonita home.

Officials said the citation should never have been issued and a permit was not required.

The U.S Constitution 1st Amendment throws out what  laws that California, Arizona, and other States recently have been trying to force upon Americans to keep them from worshipping God in their own homes.

The First Amendment to the United States Constitution is part of the Bill of Rights. The amendment prohibits the Congress from making laws "respecting an establishment of religion", impeding the free exercise of religion, infringing on the freedom of speech and infringing on the freedom of the press. In the 20th century, the Supreme Court held that the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment applies the First Amendment to each state, including any local government.

It says right there that this amendment applies to each State So Why are Christians continually being treated this way? What these states are doing is against the law and we need to stand up for our rights before they take them from us!

As Christians there comes a time to stand up.

I do believe that this teen shouldn’t have stood up in a chair due to the fact of causing a bad influence to others. But the root of her reasoning makes sense to me. As for the principal giving such a harsh 2 day suspension I believe that is going to far.

 

This only goes to show that Christians around the world are being persecuted. Even teenage girls in junior high.

 

School has become a battleground for a spiritual battle of light versus dark. From not being allowed to pray to some schools even saying that you can’t wear Christian clothes.

Yes we do still have Fellowship of Christian Athletes and some other groups as well. It is not enough. The 1st amendment says we have freedom of religion and the press. Teenage rights have  been revoked due to the lower standards of society as a whole.

 

The time has come for Christians to unite and let their voice be heard. Teens across the country should take time to pray before school and during lunch. Bring your Bibles to school. Read the Word after your work is done, on the bus and at breakfast and lunch. I challenge you today to be the hands and feet God has called you to be.
