Atheist Supports Bibles In England's Public Schools
CHRISTIAN POST---World-renowned atheist Richard Dawkins says he supports the mission of England's Department for Education to make sure every public school in the nation has a copy of the 1611 translation of the King James Bible.
"A native speaker of English who has never read a word of the King James Bible is verging on the barbarian," said Dawkins in a column he wrote for The Guardian. The author and evolutionary biologist even went as far as to say he would have donated to the cause had he been given the opportunity to do so.
The books are being distributed to the schools in celebration of the translation's 400th anniversary. The plan is being spearheaded by education secretary Michael Gove, who wrote the letter that is being included with each of the Bibles. While some have enthusiastically supported Gove's goal, others say it is unfair to people who hold to beliefs other than Christianity.
"This is not simply another piece of literature, it is the holy scripture of one particular religion,"
Terry Sanderson, president of the National Secular Society, said in a statement. "Is it really the job of the Government to be promoting one particular religion in schools that are increasingly multi-faith?"
But Dawkins is backing the distribution plan, albeit with an "ulterior motive."
"I have an ulterior motive for wishing to contribute to Gove's scheme," he wrote. "People who do not know the Bible well have been gulled into thinking it is a good guide to morality ... I have even heard the cynically misanthropic opinion that, without the Bible as a moral compass, people would have no restraint against murder, theft and mayhem. The surest way to disabuse yourself of this pernicious falsehood is to read the Bible itself."
He shared a study conducted by The Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science in which only 35 percent of self-identified British Christians accurately identified Matthew as the first book of the New Testament. Among those surveyed, 39 percent said they "don't know" which book is comes first.
He noted that many of the bloody events and wars in English history were the result of religious clashes, and argued that if people would read the Bible they would not see it as a moral guide.

MSNBC: Under Reporting Muslim Atrocities
WORLD NET DAILY----MSNBC’s new golden girl was in a pickle: If someone sees a black person
committing rape or domestic violence, should he report it if it makes
black people look bad?
Or if Muslims see wife-beating, genital mutilation and childhood sexual abuse, should they just keep it to themselves, because saying something gives ammunition to the “Islamophobes”?
The questions appear to be simple. But they posed a challenge for the host of the new “Melissa Harris-Perry” show when guest Mona Eltahawy talked about her Foreign Policy magazine cover story about abuse of women by men in the Muslim world.
Eltahawy speaks from experience: She had her arms broken in a demonstration in Egypt and was tortured and raped in an Egyptian jail cell.
So she seemed surprised to find Harris-Perry questioning her right to draw attention to “traditions” such as involuntary female circumcision, wife-beating and childhood sexual abuse.
“I start with a little bit of trepidation in this conversation,” the host said, “in part because I know some of the critiques of this. The very idea that Western press, those that are not from these nations, who are not Muslim ourselves, who are not part of these traditions can look at your article and say ‘ahhh, look at how horrible those men, or those societies, or that religion is.’
“And that is part of the reason why, for example, we have an under-reporting of rape and domestic violence in African American communities,” Harris-Perry continued. “Because we know the violence enacted on black men by police, so we often don’t call. Right?”
Then the MSNBC host brought in Harvard professor Leila Ahmed, who questioned whether Eltahawy should have written the article at all. Not because it was false, but because it made Muslims look bad.

“You began, Melissa, by noting that some things in the African-American community are not publicized precisely because of the racism,” said Ahmed as Harris-Perry nodded in agreement on a split screen.
“Mona, I appreciate what you do,” continued Ahmed. “I would love it if – I understand if you want to get your message across. It’s an important message. But if possible [you should not] give fuel, fodder to people who simply hate Arabs and Muslims in this climate of our day.”
Eltahawy seemed taken aback.
“That’s the whole point,” she said. “It’s not me that makes Muslims look bad. It’s those atrocities that make Muslims look bad. And as a writer, it’s my job to poke the painful places.”

More Than A Third Of Divorce Filings Included The Word "Facebook"
The social networking site Facebook has grown
substantially in recent years, primarily because it gives users the
chance to reconnect with old friends and distant family.
But that Facebook benefit could also be fueling relationship problems.
More than a third of divorce filings last year included the word "Facebook," according to a British survey by Divorce Online.
Some 80 percent of divorce lawyers also say they've seen a rise in cases related to social networking.

Mark of the Beast: Bilderberg Pushes Mandatory Internet ID for Europe
While the international ACTA treaty and United States’ CISPA
legislation are setting the stage to clamp down on the world wide web,
technocrats are working overtime to try to pin down your identity and
make sure all your activities are thoroughly monitored and under
control.
The European Union is now moving to create a mandatory electronic ID system for all EU citizens that would be implemented across Europe to standardize business both online and in person, authenticating users via a common ‘electronic signature.’ A single authenticating ID would guard access to the Internet, online data and most commerce. It is nothing short of an attempt to phase in a Mark of the Beast system, and a prominent Bilderberg attendee is behind the scheme.
Neelie Kroes is the EU’s Digital Agenda Commissioner, and is introducing legislation she hopes will force “the adoption of harmonised e-signatures, e-identities and electronic authentication services (eIAS) across EU member states.”
The extent of such a system would, of course, expand over time, particularly as many EU nations have resisted the big government encroachment of ID requirements on civil rights grounds, which even now smack of the Nazi regime’s draconian “papers please” policies that empowered their other avenues of tyranny. According to EurActiv.com, Neelie Kroes would later “widen the scope of the current Directive by including also ancillary authentication services that complement e-signatures, like electronic seals, time/date stamps, etc,” as the supra-national body attempts to corral more nations into participation.
This big brother system will be implemented in Europe first and later pushed in North America and the remainder of the globe, as the world is nudged step by step towards a total cashless control grid in the name of ‘safe, verifiable commerce,’ and of course, in the name of “security.” Nevermind that the plan would invite the hacking of identities and fast track forgeries. In the case of Europe, special emphasis is placed in part on “establishing a truly functioning single market” — part of the larger EU goal even now floundering.

Holder orders women's restrooms open to male
On orders from Barack Obama’s Department of Justice, officials with
the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith have given permission for a
38-year-old man to use the women’s restrooms on campus.
The report comes from Campus Reform.org, which explained that the individual also is seeking to have someone pay for a sex reassignment surgery to change from male to female.
Already living as a female, the individual, identified in the report
as Jennifer Braly, started using women’s restrooms on campus, but
quickly was the subject of complaints from women who saw him there.
The university had tried to make accommodations, designating gender-neutral restrooms in some buildings.
Not good enough, however.
Braly filed a complaint with the Civil Rights Division in the Department of Justice under Attorney General Eric Holder, school officials reported. The DOJ contacted the school.
“[T]he office of civil rights basically made its expectations through the attorney and the decision was made to respond to that direction,” said Mark Horn, the vice president of university relations. “[T]he DOJ complaint caused revisiting of our thinking.
“In the eyes of the law this individual [Braly] is entitled to use the bathroom that she identifies with,” Horn said.
The DOJ complaint was filed by Braly after the university told him to use any of the gender-neutral restrooms on campus.
“One problem to this is there are not unisex bathrooms in every building,” Braly wrote in an online essay about how other people should contribute to his surgery costs. “Especially the two main buildings where most of my classes are, so I have to go to a completely different building to use the restroom.”
While the university offered to convert other restrooms to gender-neutral, Braly said that wasn’t satisfactory.
The Campus Reform report said while anatomy matters little to the DOJ, it still remains a concern for other students.
“‘I disagree with allowing a male to use the female restrooms,” Amanda Shook, a senior at UA, told Campus Reform. “Even if they are a transgendered person, they are still a man, and should have to use the men’s restroom.”

OHIO Human Trafficking Bill OK’d by House
The Ohio House on Tuesday unanimously passed legislation that would
toughen the penalties for people convicted of human trafficking and
provide more protections and services to victims to shield them from
prosecution and aid their recovery from the traumatic experiences.
“It’s basically written with a victim-centered approach,” said State Rep. Teresa Fedor, D-Toledo, sponsor of House Bill 262.
The bill, which is expected to reach the Senate floor later this week, creates a diversion program that upon completion erases criminal charges facing young trafficking victims and allows adult victims to expunge their criminal records if the crimes resulted from their enslavement.
The bill increases trafficking to a first-degree felony that requires a prison term of 10 to 15 years. It also requires that people who pay to have sex with minors face felony charges, and convicted pimps and traffickers must register as sex offenders.
The legislation allows victims to sue traffickers in civil court, and it permits assets belonging to traffickers that are seized by law enforcement to be used to pay for services needed by victims.
“It has three prongs to it: prevention, protection and prosecution,” Fedor said.
The bill has a provision that says traffickers who intimidate or threaten victims in an attempt to keep them from testifying in court will face second-degree felony charges of obstruction of justice.
