A group of kids with hearts of gold is paying it forward to other kids. Today the five Jacques kids threw an "unbirthday" party for 29 homeless kids who live at the Freedom House.
"There were just a lot of people on the streets who were sleeping on park benches," says Marisa Jacques. For her and her four siblings seeing the realities of poverty sparked their passion to help.
"I wanna get out there and do stuff and really help the world," says 13 year-old Nico Jacques. And so the idea of a day where homeless kids could forget their worries and just be kids, was born.
"If we had a birthday party we have too many toys so we thought that we could give them to the homeless so that they could have them too," explains nine-year-old Natalie Jacques.
With a little help from mom and dad, they invited 400 of their friends and kids from the freedom house to come and celebrate with a day of presents, swimming and cake.
Freedom House kids actually get a chance to have fun today and they can do anything they want," adds Gabriela Jacques, who is 7 years old.
