Pro-life Leaders to Lay 3,300 Flowers, Hold Prayer Vigil and News Conference at the Supreme Court on the 40th Memorial of Roe v. Wade

WASHINGTON, Jan. 21, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- The service will begin on Tuesday, January 22 at 1:00 P.M. on the public sidewalk in front of the court.

The 3,300 flowers represent the 3,330 children that die every day in America from abortion and the 3,300 women who are wounded through abortion.

The leaders will also discuss the future of the pro-life movement after President Obama's victory in November and our strategies for ending abortion in America.

Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition states,
"On the 40th Memorial of Roe v. Wade, our hearts break for the tragic loss of millions of innocent children and the diminishing of women through the violence of abortion.

"We are leaving these flowers to honor these children and say their lives have purpose, meaning and dignity.

"We are also standing with the women who have been wounded through abortion, and calling upon our nation to offer women in challenging pregnancies something better than abortion.

"Although disappointing, the election of President Obama has energized our movement in a powerful way and it is forcing us to work on a local and state level where our greatest strength has always been.

"Right now, there are five states that have only one abortion clinic and we will soon see America's first abortion free state.

"The simple reality is Roe v. Wade will most likely crumble, not through being overturned at the Supreme Court, but through the constant chipping away through local initiatives and state courts.

"Our message is clear on the 40th Memorial of Roe. We will never rest or be silent until the violence of abortion ends and there is human rights and justice for all Americans!"
For more information or interviews call: Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney at  540.538.4741

PS: Pro-life activists will also gather at the Inaugural Prayer Service at the National Cathedral for President Obama on Tuesday morning at 9:00 A.M. and challenge the President to end the violence against all of America's children!Christian Newswire

1500 Abortion Clinic Closures Since 1991, Just 660 Remaining -- Good Reason for Pro-Lifer's Optimism

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn., Jan. 21, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- On the 40th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision legalizing abortion, pro-lifers have something to celebrate: the closure of 1,500 abortion clinics over the past 22 years.

In 1991 there were 2,176 surgical abortion clinics nationwide; today there are 660 and falling. Over 1,500 abortion clinics, 70% of the total, have closed their doors for good.

In 2012, an average of 7 abortion clinics closed each month.

"Abortion has been legal for 40 years this month, and 57 million babies have paid with their lives. While the pro-life movement has not ended all abortions yet, it has made some significant progress." said Ken Brady, president of Planned Childhood Life.

Five states; Arkansas, Mississippi, Wyoming, North and South Dakota, have only one clinic each.

The city of Chattanooga, Tennessee has no abortion clinic. Pro-lifers closed both clinics 20 years ago. It is the largest city in the nation without an abortion clinic. For more than half of the 40 years in which abortion has been legal, there is one city that has been abortion-free.

Chattanooga is an abortion-free city done right. A local doctor who used to do abortions stated, "I think the pro-lifers here have been very responsible. They have used political, economic and social pressure to push their agenda, not violence." -- Chattanooga Times, 2/27/95

Overall abortions are down 25% from 1.6 million in 1990 to 1.2 million since 2005.

American Rights Coalition is an organization that helps women who are having physical and emotional problems after abortion. Charles Wysong, president and founder said, "We began to notice a steady decline in both clinics and abortions after we began helping injured women sue abortion clinics for malpractice in 1986."

"Slowly, doctors began finding that while abortion may be legal, malpractice is not. This accountability caused many doctors to quit or never enter the abortion practice." Mr. Wysong said.

Cheryl Sullenger, Senior Policy Advisor for Operation Rescue said, "There are a number of reasons for the decline: malpractice lawsuits, health code violations, criminal prosecutions of either the abortionist or the clinic and disciplinary actions. When state officials discover how these clinics are being operated and how women are treated there, they have generally taken strong action and have closed many of them."

Operation Rescue, a leading pro-life organization, posts information on all abortion clinic closings at www.AbortionDocs.org.

Former Abortion Clinic Workers Tell the Real Truth About Abortion

Increasingly, doctors, nurses, counselors, and other abortion clinic workers are speaking out about the deep, dark secrets that go on within the clinics. Some of these workers quit because they can no longer deal with the reality of taking innocent human lives day after day after day. Sadly, some remain.
Below, you can hear real truth from the mouths of abortion workers. If you’ve ever wondered what exactly goes on in abortion clinics, wonder no longer…
Abortion Doctors and Workers on the Reality of Abortion
“The idea of abortion to save the mother’s life is something that people cling to because it sounds noble and pure – but medically speaking, it probably doesn’t exist. It’s a real stretch of our thinking. Abortions, then, can be seen as always purely elective – not necessary from a medical standpoint.”
Abortion: A Doctor’s Perspective A Woman’s Dilemma by Don Sloan, M.D. with Paula Hartz (page 60)

“In testimony Wednesday in St. Louis Circuit Court, [abortionist] Crist said that it is not uncommon for second-trimester fetuses to leave the womb feet-first, intact and with their hearts still beating. He sometimes crushes their skulls to get the fetuses out. Other times, he dismembers them.”
“Abortion Doctor Gives Graphic testimony Describing Abortion Procedure” by Jo Mannies, St. Louis Post-Dispatch, May 25, 2000
“Abortion is, by almost any standards, a violent act. All surgery violates the integrity of the body; purely elective surgery seems particularly gratuitous. On the positive side, it gives women the means to decide their own fates and control their own reproductive lives. But it also puts more of the weight on women’s shoulders, allowing men and society in general to literally scrape and vacuum away their responsibilities.”

North Korea kills two Christians

North Korea (ODM/MNN) ― North Korea's Kim Jung-un has been spending a lot of time burnishing his image.
The seeming openness and less hostile overtures purveyed under his control had human rights observers wondering if a Burmese-like makeover was in the offing. Recent reports indicate the "change" may be mere window dressing. The government is actually cracking down on Christians.

1.5 Million Respond to Gospel Through Billy Graham Online Ministry

By Anugrah Kumar , Christian Post Contributor
January 19, 2013|11:07 am

Nearly 8 million people around the world heard the message of Jesus Christ in 2012 through an interactive online website operated by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, and nearly 1.5 million of them said they prayed a salvation prayer.

On average, more than 4,100 people responded per day last year in response to the Gospel presentation on PeaceWithGod.net, the ministry said Friday.
"This is God at work, and we're praising Him for what is happening," John Cass, director of the ministry's Internet Evangelism efforts, said in a statement. "We believe that each one represents someone who has been prayed for by family or friends. Each is a mother, father, son or daughter, who has recognized their need for a Savior and accepted the hope that can be found in Jesus Christ."

Pastor Steven Andrew Gives Prayer for the USA -- Says No Such Thing as Homosexual 'Pastors'

SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 21, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- Christians believe that Barack Obama is going against Scripture to invite homosexual "pastors" to pray and give a "sermon" for the USA. However, to bring God's blessings to Americans, Pastor Steven Andrew gives a Biblical prayer for the USA that George Washington and Abraham Lincoln would approve.

The Christian leader is president of USA Christian Ministries and author of "Making A Strong Christian Nation," which provides Biblical answers to The Harbinger book.

Obama invited homosexual activists Luis Leon on January 21 and Adam Hamilton on January 22, 2013.

The Biblical prayer for the USA is:
    Father,

You, the LORD, are the God of the USA and Americans are Your people.

As George Washington and Abraham Lincoln said: It is the duty of all nations to obey Your will and to recognize the just government of Almighty God. Americans love You with all our hearts and covenant that Jesus Christ is Lord of the USA.

Jesus said a wise man builds on Your Word. Agreeing with Jesus, Americans acknowledge: The Holy Bible is the Rock on which our Republic rests -- as Andrew Jackson said.

You promise to bless those nations who obey Your Word.

    Give Americans Christian love.

We repent of all sin. We serve You only. We welcome You to all government, schools, courts and military. As First Chief Justice John Jay said we promise to "select and prefer Christians" for our leaders. We promise to teach our children Your Word and to bring back the Holy Bible and Christian prayer in schools. We obey You as a pro-life nation. We obey You with God's Marriage of one man and one woman. Instead of covetousness, each American is to work for their own needs.

We praise You for Your mercy endures forever.

    In Jesus' name. Amen.
To help Americans have God's blessings for God's Marriage, the pastor launched a nation-wide campaign asking, "Will you stand up for God's Marriage?"

He explains, "Jesus gave the most Christ-like and loving response to say to homosexuals. He said, 'Repent and believe in the Gospel.'"

"It's important to follow Jesus because 1Corinthians 6:9-11 says the unrepentant don't go to Heaven. There is no such thing as a homosexual 'pastor,'" he continues.

He asks churches to join in the God's Marriage nation-wide campaign. Information and free tools can be found at USAChristianMinistries.com. To help financially with the nation-wide God's Marriage outreach, see USA Christian Ministries (www.usachristianministries.com/partner).Christian Newswire

Why Pastors Need the Body of Christ

By Paul Tripp , CP Guest Columnist
January 20, 2013|7:32 am

Pastor, have you ever asked the question, "Who am I, and what do I spiritually need?" Or have you ever thought about your pastor and asked, "Who's my pastor, and what does he need in order to remain spiritually healthy and to grow in grace?" Does it seem right and healthy to you that in many churches no one gets less of the ministry of the body of Christ than the pastor? Does it seem best to you that most pastors live outside of and above the body of Christ?

If every pastor is in the middle of his own sanctification, shouldn't he receive the normal range of essential ministry from the body of Christ that God has ordained for every member? Is there any indication in the New Testament that the pastor is the exception to the normal rules that God has designed for the health and grow of his people? Is it possible that we've constructed a kind of relationship of the pastor to his congregation that can't work? Could it be that we're asking something of our pastors that they'll be unable to do? Is it biblical to tell pastors that they won't be able to be true friends with anyone, that they must live in isolation that we'd say is unhealthy for anyone else?

US Gives Tribute to Memory of Martin Luther King, Jr.

The United States honored the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday by holding tributes and commemorative services, with crowds of people expected to attend events in Atlanta, hometown of the slain civil rights leader.
With the inauguration of President Barack Obama taking place on the same day as the national holiday marking King's birth, among the many events is a so-called watch party at Atlanta's Ebenezer Baptist Church with the events from Washington shown on a giant screen.
A service at the historic church marks the 50 years that have passed since King's "I Have a Dream" speech, which he delivered in Washington in 1963, organizers said. The keynote speaker at the service was the Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference.

Parents 'tried to exorcise daughter, 10'

The couple, from the Democratic Republic of Congo, "think their daughter is a witch and reject the accusation" of abuse, Daniel Larson, a prosecutor in the western Swedish town of Boraas, said on Friday.
The indictment is based on three alleged acts of abuse committed between February 2007 and February 2008.
The girl, who claims she is not the couple's biological daughter though the parents say otherwise, was allegedly beaten unconscious and forced to drink a concoction made up of a cleaning product and her own urine, according to the charge sheet.
Social services removed the girl, born in 1997, from her parents' custody in 2008 and she has since been living with a foster family. The girl only recently opened up about the alleged abuse "once she felt safe," the prosecutor said.
She had been placed with the foster family because of various reports that she was not being treated well at home. Her school had among other things reported to social services that her parents treated her very differently from her brothers and sisters, for example sending her to school in dirty clothes everyday.

wounded Knee Massacre
A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY TO THINK ABOUT.......December 29, 2012 marks the 122nd Anniversary of the murder of 297 Sioux Indians at Wounded Knee Creek on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. These 297 people, in their winter camp, were murdered by federal agents and members of the 7th Cavalry who had come to confiscate their firearms "for their own safety and protection". The slaughter began after the majority of the Sioux had peacefully turned in their firearms. The Calvary began shooting, and managed to wipe out the entire camp. 200 of the 297 victims were women and children. About 40 members of the 7th Cavalry were killed, but over half of them were victims of fratricide from the Hotchkiss guns of their overzealous comrades-in-arms. Twenty members of the 7th Cavalry's death squad, were deemed "National Heroes" and were awarded the Medal of Honor for their acts of [cowardice] heroism.

We hear very little of Wounded Knee today. It is usually not mentioned in our history classes or books. What little that does exist about Wounded Knee is normally a sanitized "Official Government Explanation". And there are several historically inaccurate depictions of the events leading up to the massacre, which appear in movie scripts and are not the least bit representative of the actual events that took place that day.

Wounded Knee was among the first federally backed gun confiscation attempts in United States history. It ended in the senseless murder of 297 people.
