Pro-Life Bus Tour Will Expose Obama’s Radical Pro-Abortion Record

The Susan B. Anthony List, a pro-life women’s group, will be hitting the road with a new pro-life bus tour that will expose President Barack Obama’s radical pro-abortion record.
The Abortion is Not Health Care” bus tour through swing states, August 20 to 30.
The bus tour will travel to 30 cities throughout key swing states of Iowa, Wisconsin, Ohio, Virginia, and Florida.  National and local pro-life leaders will rally Americans to defeat President Obama and pro-abortion House and Senate candidates including Christie Vilsack (IA), Tammy Baldwin (WI), Sherrod Brown (OH), Tim Kaine (VA), and Bill Nelson (FL).
“Pro-life women from across the country are hitting the road to expose President Obama’s abortion record – and that of his extreme team,” the group says. “Across Iowa, Wisconsin, Ohio, Virginia and Florida, women will be speaking out, calling on voters to defeat President Obama — and those Senators and Senate candidates that seek to rubber-stamp his extreme abortion agenda — at the ballot box.”
The Susan B. Anthony List says Obama has advanced abortion in a myriad of ways, including:
* Expanding taxpayer funding of abortion under the guise of “health care” through Obamacare.
* Forcing taxpayers to underwrite the nation’s #1 abortion business, Planned Parenthood.
* Refusing to defend baby girls from the lethal discrimination of sex-selective abortion.
* Exporting taxpayer funding of abortion overseas to nations like China who practice forced late-term abortions.
“President Obama’s record on abortion is extreme…?and must be exposed,” SBA says.
“President Obama began his term in office speaking about ‘common ground’ on the abortion issue, however, Obama has repeatedly shown that there are no limits to his abortion extremism.  From expanding taxpayer funding of abortion under the guise of ‘health care’, to forcing taxpayers to underwrite the nation’s #1 abortion business, Planned Parenthood, refusing to defend baby girls from the deadly discrimination of sex-selective abortion, to exporting taxpayer funding of abortion overseas, President Obama’s record on abortion is nothing but extreme,” said Marjorie Dannenfelser, President of the Susan B. Anthony List. “President Obama and his team of fellow abortion extremists in Congress do not represent the interests of American women and families. We aim to see them defeated come November.”

‘I do forgive him,’ says teen with knee blown apart by Aurora theater shooter

AURORA, Colorado, 13 August, 12 (LifeSiteNews.com) – In the midst of the darkness and chaos of the Aurora theatre shooting last month, one eighteen-year-old woman lay on the ground, her knee completely shattered by a stray bullet from the gun of the shooting’s sole suspect, James Holmes. While bullets continued to fall around her, Bonnie Kate Pourciau prayed desperately for her life to be spared. Ultimately the young woman’s prayer was heard, and she escaped with her life. However, she has since undergone numerous reconstructive surgeries that have left her bedridden, in excruciating pain.
But despite the hell that Bonnie Kate has been through, she told LifeSiteNews.com in an telephone interview last week that she has made the choice to forgive the man that the world has condemned as a heartless, psychopathic monster, and wishes simply that she could embrace him, and tell him that hope and forgiveness are still available to him.

New Book Challenges Women to Go Beyond 'Shades of Grey'

CHICAGO, Aug. 14, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- Even as the cyprian trilogy Fifty Shades of Grey is quickly becoming one of the fastest-selling series in recent years, a surprising new book that challenges readers to choose dignity over desire is beginning to find an audience with women everywhere.

Authored by Dr. Rosalie de Rosset, a professor of literature at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Unseduced and Unshaken: The Place of Dignity in a Young Woman's Choices is a collection of essays that will help readers to become formidable, self-possessed individuals of moral sensibility.

Readers are challenged to move beyond "impoverished" views of womanhood -- and impoverished literature, for that matter. "We have to read to begin with, but we also have to read well. Good fiction is a wellspring of delight once we have broken the habit of consuming junk," Dr. de Rosset says candidly.

Still, pop culture isn't entirely at fault, the author adds. The "acute shallowness" of many women's ministries is a tragic reality in the church today.

Theology, Dr. de Rosset notes, is a word we have associated with scholars, professors, pastors and men ... probably in that order. "The underlying presupposition is that theological, intellectual or in-depth biblical subjects are not appealing to women."

It is "soul-nurture" women need to be engaged in, she explains: "This is what Christ modeled for women so powerfully throughout His ministry on earth, both in the way He treated them and in the way He spoke to them. For that reason, the church above all other institutions, must model the habit of giving worth and dignity to every individual ... believing that each person is a valued creation of God."

Uncompromising yet unassuming, the author leads readers toward a greater understanding of who they are before God, helping them deal thoughtfully with their personhood as they make decisions about the women they will become.

Peppered with discussion-sparking questions at the end of each chapter, Unseduced and Unshaken is ideal for groups and addresses all aspects of a woman's life -- from education and leisure, to spiritual existence and the importance women must place on their intellect and their bodies. Topics include: Finding Your Voice: Knowing and Being Known; A Theology of Play: Mindful or Mindless; Reading as a Spiritual Exercise; and Sexual Dignity: Not by Accident.
