Miranda Shared this story here on the Eternal Flame News last week when it happened.  To read the full story and get her thoughts on what happened click on  U.S Govt Census Worker Wanting Us To Give Out Personal Information On Our Neighbors

You may be wondering why we went to NBC and shared our story, This is why. Last Tuesday May 4, 2010 the day after the Census Worker came to our home. We called the Census Bureau in Detroit Michigan who is over the state of Ohio after being referred to them by the Census Bureau Headquarters. We called and Miranda told the woman about what had happened gave the woman on the phone all the information she had gotten from our Landlord. Because, the Census worker left a paper for our landlord to fill out with all her information on it she left her name, her badge ID #, The phone number for the Newark Ohio Census Bureau office that she said she worked at, and even a phone number where she herself could be reached personally.

But the woman on the phone from the Detroit Census Office tried to argue with Miranda and told her, "Mam they can ask questions about your neighbors." Miranda asked the woman how they could ask questions about people that don't even live in the homes anymore and want you to help them fill out a Census Form on them. After that was said the woman from the Census Bureau tells Miranda, "well mam I'll have to have my manager call you back, because they are in a meeting right now." We gave the woman all our information on how to reach us. They never called us back and that has been a week today. So that is why we contacted NBC 4 because we weren't getting any answers.
When Tom Brockman came to the house he said he had called The Media head person for the Census and was told that They had only been sending people door to door since May 1st 2010 and as of May 3, 2010 the workers should NOT Be asking you questions about your neighbors and past neighbors.
So after hearing what Tom Brockman said makes us think there is really more to this story since the Census Bureau told Tom Brockman this shouldn't have happened and the fact that the Detroit Census Office never returned our phone call. This is obviously not a closed case and we will be continuing try and investigate it and if we get any answers to our questions we will be giving an update.
