Montana School Wants To Teach Sex Ed To Kindergarten Students

Written By Miranda Caverley

Helena School In Montana is proposing a 62 page document on Sex Education for the school. In this document the school wants to be able to teach Kindergarten Students through 12th Grade. Needless to say most people in the community and parents of the children that attend Helena School are NOT happy about this new curriculum trying to be taught to their children.

When Helena School held a school board meeting about the new Sex Education proposal over 300 people from the community showed up. So many in fact that there was not enough room to hold everyone. 300 were let in and the rest had to stand outside and listen to the meeting through a sound system on the street. Out of the 300 who were lucky enough to be in the meeting 64 of them were able to speak openly and share their thoughts and opinions on this new Sex Education Proposal.

Most people were not in favor of the Sex Education proposal, but some were. A handful of gay men spoke in favor of the document, particularly the portion that calls for children to understand that making fun of people by calling them names is disrespectful.

That is good to teach children not to make fun of others just because they may be different from you. But what does this have to do with Sex Education? Isn't this a moral issue teaching children how to respect each other? Teaching kindergarten children how to be homosexuals and explain what they do is really disturbing. Even teaching kindergarten children how to have sex as a heterosexual is not applicable to a 5 year old little boy or little girl. Some don't even know how to tie their own shoes, and this school wants to teach them how to have sex?

It is clear that many schools today in America are more concerned about Sex than they are about teaching the children their ABC's, reading, writing, and arithmetic. A child at age 5 is not thinking about having sex or wanting to know how to have sex with a man or woman or in this case a little boy or little girl.

If schools are allowed to start teaching children about sex at age 5 this is only going to promote pedophilia behavior. You will have little children acting out what they are being taught in the class rooms and the parents have no control over what their children are being taught and then acting out at home or in public. The homosexuals and other people that support this proposal mostly want this taught to promote tolerance and respecting each other. Then why not just teach that? Teaching children morals and respect for each other is perfectly ok, but to bring sex into the picture is not.

Why are parents letting schools, tv, and society raise their children? More parents need to step up and teach their children morals, respect for each other. To show them that everyone is different and may not always believe or think the same way you do, and that is ok and we should not treat people badly just because they may be different from us.

Sex Education does not have any role to play in teaching children this. If schools think they absolutely need to teach sex ed then teach it to the children who will understand it, the teenagers. Let little children be children and allow them to develop at their own pace instead of throwing all these adult behaviors and situations at them when they are 5 years old.

Our hope is that this Sex Education Proposal will NOT pass. That the parents of the students and others in the community will continue to rise up and fight to stop this and save the innocence of the children.
