DNC County Chairman: Christians Want Jewish People to Die
Rep. Clyburn Questions Republicans’ Christian Faith: They Think ‘There’s Something Wrong With Feeding People When They‘re Hungry’
In a sit-down interview for Odyssey Networks’
special series “Faith in the 2012 Election,” Rep. James Clyburn
(D-S.C.) discussed the intermingling of religion and politics. Among his
more unusual comments, he said that Democrats more fervently adhere to
the U.S. Constitution than their Republican counterparts. He also took
aim at conservatives’ purported lack of generosity, claiming that they
think “there‘s something wrong with feeding people when they’re hungry.”
“No campaign should be built upon faith,” Clyburn explained at the beginning of the interview, maintaining his strict adherence to the separation of church and state.
The congressman also tackled the main reason why he believes Democrats and Republicans appear to be so different when it comes to their engagement with faith and religion. What he meant here, of course, is that many people view conservatives as more religious than those who find themselves on the left side of the aisle.
“Democrats, by and large, have always been pretty strict adherents to the Constitution,” he said. “We believe in the separation of church and state.”

NEW POLL: Young Voters Say Availability of Full-Time Jobs More Important Than Lower Student Loan Rates or Further Dependency on Parents for Health Insurance
Only 38 percent say today's leaders represent their interests, while 76 percent intend to vote in the presidential election

WASHINGTON, Sept. 6, 2012/Christian Newswire/ -- Generation Opportunity, the largest non-profit, non-partisan organization in the United States engaging and mobilizing young Americans (18-29 years old) on the important economic issues facing the nation, released new polling data today on Millennials as the 2012 presidential election nears. Since its launch in June of 2011, Generation Opportunity has amassed a following of over 4 million fans on Facebook and is actively organizing Millennials across the country through grassroots tactics, voter registration, and voter turnout efforts.
"Young adults are sending a very clear message to the President and other elected officials -- we want opportunities, not more dependency. The availability of meaningful, full-time jobs that provide the opportunity to be independent and to plan for their future is far more important to young Americans than issues such as student loan rates and further dependency on their parents' healthcare plan. Young people know the root issue is the lack of real job opportunities, not further dependence on government, so that they are better able to provide for themselves, pay back loans, and choose the health care plans that best suit their individual needs," said Paul T. Conway, president of Generation Opportunity and former Chief of Staff of the U.S. Department of Labor.
"This generation is very savvy -- they are used to customizing everything from their coffees to their iPhones and do not appreciate the lack of choice in the most significant issues they face: planning for their future and building a career. The more politicians avoid discussing details on how they will get government out of the way of full-time job creation and reverse record high youth unemployment, the more politicians are viewed as either disingenuous or completely out of touch with the day-to-day concerns of young Americans. It should come as no surprise that young people don’t believe their interests are being represented in Washington and plan on making their voices heard in the presidential election in November."
For Generation Opportunity, the polling company, inc./WomanTrend conducted a nationwide online survey of 1,003 adults ages 18-29 between July 27 and July 31, 2012. Randomly selected online opt-in panel participants were sent an invitation to the survey via email which included a secure link to the online questionnaire. Quotas were used to ensure the survey was representative of the larger 18-29 year old nationwide population with regard to race, region, and gender. The data were NOT weighted.
The overall sampling margin of error for the survey is ±3.1% at a 95% confidence interval, meaning that the data obtained would not differ more than 3.1 percentage points in 95 out of 100 similar samples obtained.
The overall sampling margin of error for the survey is ±3.1% at a 95% confidence interval, meaning that the data obtained would not differ more than 3.1 percentage points in 95 out of 100 similar samples obtained.
- 64% of young people ages 18-29 believe the availability of more quality, full-time jobs upon graduation is more important than lower student loan interest rates.
- 61% of Millennials say the availability of more quality, full-time jobs with health insurance plans is more important than the ability to stay on their parents’ health insurance plans until they are 26.
- 84% of young people ages 18-29 had planned to but now might delay or not make at all a major life change or move forward on a major purchase due to the current state of the economy (Accepted multiple responses) (Randomized):
- 38% - Buy their own place;
- 32% - Go back to school/getting more education or training;
- 31% - Start a family;
- 27% - Change jobs/cities;
- 26% - Pay off student loans or other debt;
- 25% - Save for retirement;
- 23% - Get married;
- 12% - None of the above (accepted only this response);
- 4% - Do not know/cannot judge (accepted only this response).
- Just 38% believe that today's political leaders reflect the interests of young Americans.
- 76% of Millennials plan to vote in the election for President this year.
Last month, Generation Opportunity released the non-seasonally adjusted (NSA) unemployment data for Millennials for July 2012:
- The youth unemployment rate for 18-29 year olds specifically for July 2012 is 12.7 percent (NSA).
- The youth unemployment rate for 18-29 year old African-Americans for July 2012 is 22.3 percent (NSA); the youth unemployment rate for 18-29 year old Hispanics for July 2012 is 14.0 percent (NSA); and the youth unemployment rate for 18–29 year old women for July 2012 is 12.6 percent (NSA).
- The declining labor participation rate has created an additional 1.715 million young adults that are not counted as "unemployed" by the U.S. Department of Labor because they are not in the labor force, meaning that those young people have given up looking for work due to the lack of jobs.
- If the labor force participation rate were factored into the 18-29 youth unemployment calculation, the actual 18-29-unemployment rate would rise to 16.7 percent (NSA).

While
First Lady Michelle Obama’s speech won rave reviews on Twitter Tuesday
night, those who got inspired to try to watch the livestream of the
convention on BarackObama.com or YouTube found the video flagged by
copyright claims shortly after it finished.YouTube, the official streaming partner of the Democratic National Convention, put a copyright blocking message on the livestream video of the event shortly after it ended, which was embedded prominently at BarackObama.com and DemConvention2012. Would-be internet viewers saw a message claiming the stream had been caught infringing on the copyright of one of many possible content companies:
This video contains content from WMG, SME, Associated Press (AP), UMG, Dow Jones, New York Times Digital, The Harry Fox Agency, Inc. (HFA), Warner Chappell, UMPG Publishing and EMI Music Publishing, one or more of whom have blocked it in your country on copyright grounds. Sorry about that.When contacted by Wired for comment late Tuesday, Erica Sackin, an Obama campaign staffer who works on digital outreach, had no knowledge of the outage, asked this reporter for the url and then upon seeing the takedown, said, “I’ll have to call you back.”
On Wednesday morning, a campaign spokesman confirmed there was a “technical error on YouTube that inadvertently triggered a copyright message at the end of the live stream Tuesday night,” adding “We do not expect tonight’s coverage will be affected.”

Wonder where hostility to Christianity is surging?
Christian company owners have been ordered by Barack Obama to fund
abortions for employees, the federal government has insisted it has a
right to set qualifications for ministers churches hire, and eliminating
any public references to faith appears to be a national priority.
What has happened in America since John Adams said, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other”?
A new report recently released by the Family Research Council and Liberty Institute confirms that anti-Christian hostility is rising across the nation’s public square, in schools and in government.
“America today would be unrecognizable to our founders. Our first freedom is facing a relentless onslaught from well-funded and aggressive groups and individuals who are using the courts, Congress, and the vast federal bureaucracy to suppress and limit religious freedom,” said a summary of the report from Tony Perkins, president of the FRC, and Kelly Shackelford, president of Liberty Institute.
In fact, “The Obama administration no longer even speaks of freedom of religion; now it is only ‘freedom of worship.’ This radical departure is one that threatens to make true religious liberty vulnerable, conditional, and limited.
“As some have said, it is a freedom ‘only within four walls.’ That is, you are free to worship within the four walls of your home, church, or synagogue, but when you enter the public square the message is, ‘leave your religion at home,’” the report said.
“President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have repeatedly echoed this same message in international forums, acknowledging only a right to the ‘freedom of worship.’ This is no accident and it has huge ramifications.”

How 'Pro-Choice' are Democrats?
The official Democratic Party platform "strongly and unequivocally supports Roe v. Wade and a woman's right to make decisions regarding her pregnancy, including a safe and legal abortion, regardless of ability to pay."
Reason TV talked with Democratic delegates and supporters at the 2012 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte and found that most were on board with the party's strong pro-choice stance. But when pressed to talk about whether or not they were pro-choice in areas of human activity beyond abortion, delegates and supporters seemed less certain and, at times, outright hostile to the notion of increased choice.

DNC Allegedly Rejects Gifts & Service From Christian Churches Over Pro-Life Views: ‘Spitting in God’s Face’
Some shocking claims are coming from church leaders in Charlotte,
North Carolina. Select congregations are alleging that the Democratic
National Committee banned dozens of houses of worship from giving gifts
and writing letters to convention attendees over the fact that they hold
views that run contrary to the party’s platform.
The incident came as a surprise to Charlotte714, a local religious movement comprised of more than 100 churches. Most recently, the group came together to pray for the convention and its participants. As a result of its efforts, 9,000 people joined together in worship and prayer last Sunday, just two days prior to the Democratic National Convention’s launch.
Despite this support, the Democratic Party is purportedly uninterested in what the Christians are offering.
“They told us our views on women’s rights are contrary to the Democratic party platform,” David Benham, lead organizer of the Charlotte714, told FOX News’ Todd Starnes.
Benham explained that 56 churches were hoping to help out during the convention through a special “Adopt-a-Delegation” program. So, they organized gift baskets and penned a letter welcoming delegates to the city; they also offered to help out with childcare, transportation and other related matters.
However, the gift baskets were rejected, the Christians claim. While Benham said the faith leaders were merely trying to “display Southern hospitality,” the efforts fell flat.
“I got a call from the mayor’s office speaking on behalf of the convention and they asked us not to participate,” he told Starnes. “I was blown away and could not believe it.”
